Words are windows to other souls.
Why I Write:
I write because the stories are a part of me. If I didn't publish my books, I would still have closets full of manuscripts. The greatest part of writing in my opinion is the ability to share these stories with others. Every book reflects a piece of my soul. When I release a new book, it's with a bit of hesitation because I am putting myself out there. Most authors are introverted by nature because we dwell so often in the worlds inside. The hard part is then taking those worlds and characters we've become attached to and turning them over to our readers, hoping they will love them as we do. The greatest part is receiving emails from readers reflecting just that. My goal was to give others the same escape I grew up finding in books; the ability I have to do just that is a dream come true. Thank you, readers. I appreciate you more than you know. May you enjoy the worlds within my pages and find the escape and adventure you are looking for. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I write these stories for you.
Along with writing the final book of the Werewolf Academy series, I am also currently working on The Monster Asylum series. This is a project from the heart. It follows Everett, a vampire raised in a human family who has struggled to live a normal life despite his differences. Everything changes the day he meets the werewolf Adrielle and she takes him to the Monster Asylum. Realization that there are other monsters in the five cities who need his help drives Everett to recognize his true potential and push himself to save those in desperate situations. With his friends at his back, the vampire, werewolf, warlock, ghost, human, and amarok fight to change the course of events with an impact far greater than any they could have imagined.
The Silver Series:
Werewolves hide among you; it’s a secret we have fought for centuries to keep. We were almost wiped out once, and know better than to let the secret out again. But just like humans, werewolves are impulsive and sometimes uncontrollable. That’s where I come in. My job is to protect the werewolves and help them live full and happy lives. There are Hunters and others who don’t believe werewolves have rights and should be hunted and exterminated like animals. I’ve done what I can to smooth Hunter-werewolf relations, but extremists, fighting rings, and covert agencies feel that the fate of werewolves should be to die, be forced to fight for the entertainment of humans who watch the mutilation and bloodshed like it’s a sport, or be experimented upon to unlock the secrets of our superior strength and increased healing capabilities. I have seen things that would break me if I didn’t remember what I was fighting for. But I do remember, and I want to share that story with you. --Jaze Carso
